The Financial Services Authority (OJK) held a webinar entitled "The Trump Tariff Domino Effect: Threat or Opportunity for the Indonesian Economy?" on Thursday, May 15, 2025, through the Zoom Meeting platform. The event, which started at 09.00 WIB, aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the impact of the United States import tariff policy (Trump Tariff) on the Indonesian and global economy.

The webinar was opened with remarks from Mr. Anung Herlianto, Deputy Chief Commissioner of the OJK Institute. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of this discussion to anticipate global economic turmoil that may arise due to the tariff policy.

In the first session, the webinar presented Ms. Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, Chairperson of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO), presenting material on "Industry Players' Response to Changes in US Trade Policy". Ms. Shinta shared views and strategies from industry players in facing the challenges and opportunities that arise due to the US import tariff policy.

The next presentation was delivered by Mr. Edi Prio Pambudi, Deputy for Coordination of Economic Cooperation and Investment, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. Mr. Edi Prio Pambudi presented material on "Indonesian Government Policies in Responding to the Domino Effect of Trump Tariffs". He explained various strategic steps prepared by the government to maintain the stability and competitiveness of the national economy amid changes in global trade policies.

This webinar was organized to provide insights to participants regarding the identification of challenges and opportunities that arise for Indonesia. In addition, participants are expected to understand the strategic steps and responses prepared by the government in dealing with these policies. Thus, it is hoped that the stability and competitiveness of the national economy can be maintained.
